Yay or nay?

I enjoyed it.  Bruno Mars and his crew went old school and reminded me of the Temptations....and then his James Brown moves cracked me up as well.  The Chili Peppers routine was a good break.

Overall, it blew the last few years performances away in my book.  Our whole family enjoyed it.

I agree, I thought it was a great show. I was wondering how they were going to merge the Peppers with Bruno Marrs! I thought it went great! Bruno is coming to Memphis in June and we are definately going to try and go!

I thought it went south just after his drum solo. I just don't know his music, so was pretty bored.

I didn't have high expectations going in, but was very pleasantly surprised. I am not a big Bruno fan, but he gave a pretty good performance. The Peppers were indeed a good addition. With the military tribute in the end there it is hard to be upset. Well done.

Loved it!  YouTube the kid and listen to him sign in the smaller venues; He can bring it.  Unlike the BRONCOS!   hahahahahahahahah

Certainly a better performance than anyone from Denver had. Not my kind of music, but it was entertaining.

Chili Pepper are great but they are starting to look like shirtless middle-aged guys reliving their youth. Perhaps future triathletes?

Best halftime show in a while. Appreciated that he made it about the music and like you said went old school. No parade floats and afro'ed guys on slack lines.

I have never seen the RHCP in concert before so maybe the shirtless thing is a signature move, but it seemed rather unecessary to me. I do like their music though and I agree it was a cool pairing, they all seemed to pull it off well.

Felt the exact same way. LOVED the show but was distracted (in a "LOL" way) by the unnecessary and fairly unattractive bare chests. Laughed out loud at a Tweet that said RHCP eliminated all risk of a wardrobe malfunction this year

being a child of the 90s, i can't remember EVER seeing Flea (the bass player) in a shirt, and Anthony Kiedis (Singer with a butchered spelling) was often shirtless as well.  although the guys don't have "hot" bodies, they have aged well and certainly don't have BAD bodies.  i was more distracted by anthony's bizarre printed tights/leggings.

I like Bruno Mars more than I thought I would.

How relevant are the RHCP now? Does anyone still listen to them? I mean that as an honest question. I wasn't a fan in the 90s, but that was a long time ago now. Would a Bruno Mars fan even know who they are?

HA!  Best line I've seen about the half time show!

I really liked it - I've never really been into Bruno's music, but I thought he did a really decent job, and the RHCP combo with Bruno was pretty awesome... Though what the hell was up with Anthony Kiedis's tights?  I was kind of mesmerized and confused all at the same time...

Gotcha, figured it must have been a typical move for them as it didn't really seem to fit the theme of this particular show.

Still like the music, good choice of song too considering what the Bronco's were doing with the game...

I loved the half time show. Honest question, how does anyone who has a radio the last 2-3 years not know who Bruno Mars is?

He's kind of been everywhere in a good way.

Chili Peppers were good as always.

It was good! Dave's daughter thought Bruno Mars must've been on strings when he did the splits...Dave and I both tried to tell her he wasn't. :-)

I'm glad Flea kept it PG, I heard that he was talking about dropping his pans...

I thought Bruno Mars was really good. I thought he was an odd choice-- the first SB in NYC, and you would have expected (or at least I would have expected) some more iconically local act (Bon Jovi, Bruce, someone like that). The choice of Bruno Mars, who's still a fairly new artist, and the RHCP's, an iconically LA band, was a head-scratcher to me.

Someone told me (so I don't have a source I can cite) that the Chili Peppers were a late addition. Supposedly, someone decided that Bruno Mars by himself didn't have a wide enough demographic appeal (ie., "they needed someone who appealed more to straight men") Originally, it was just going to be Bruno by himself, which is why it seemed a little awkward when the RHCP's took the stage and they performed side-by-side. I don't think they had much time to rehearse together and, again, from what I was told, when it was suggested to Bruno that he step aside when the RHCP's came on, he told them he wasn't going anywhere, since he had originally been promised the whole halftime show to himself. I thought it worked, though. They're all pros and it came off well, even if it seemed a little more unscripted and unchoreographed than you usually see in a halftime show.

Crazy the stuff you can hear on the grapevine. I heard (some guy on the radio) that Bruno was told he could pick who he wanted as a guest and he picked the RHCP. Called the lead singer and he called the other guys to see if everyone was in or not.

Who knows for sure, plenty of stories out there.

I think they ran their course with the "old guys" lately. You had Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, Prince, Madonna, etc... I didn't mind seeing an up and comer, especially since based on what I have seen or heard of him, Mars is not a complete idiot like most of the "current talent".

thought it was the best half time show in the last 4 years for sure.  I was/am a big RHCP fan and though they and Bruno came across really well together.

Not a huge Bruno fan, but I think he made the half time performers from recent years look shoddy! he killed it, great voice, great performance, well put together.  Only downside is I now have to find a concert to take my wife to :-
