Someone correct me if I am wrong, but previous winners get lifetime entry and the other top 10 get entry into the next race.

TexasMPGal - 2008-10-11 4:06 PM If you win Kona, can you come back anytime to race it? Asking cause they said Norman hasn't finished an IM since he won in 2006...

Winners qualify for the next Kona, everyone else has to earn their slot.

So what did Norman do to qualify this year then?

Previous champions get a lifetime slot....

What's the men's marathon record?

Has anyone gone sub-2:40 before?

I don't think so but I am not that informed on IM history

Did a little research: Mark Allen did 2:40:04 in the '89 Iron War.

Different run course. Mark has said that the old course was not as hard as today's. Not sure what makes it different but he has made this comments last year after Macca's run.

I think it is crazy that Chrissie is now less than 2 minutes behind, after losing the 10 minutes to the flat tire! She might even regain the lead before the run starts! That's insane!

Back in 1st!

I did not expect that.

crazy! she was also just pedalling at a 70ish cadence and she can run very fast. mmmmmm, can the 90 rpm been the optimal cadence be another myth busted?

That is totally the key. I pedal around low 70's and I have  a 13:13 Iron Distance to back that up Wink
