Pennsylvania | Subject: RE: Manatees - 2018 Edition Now CLOSED Originally posted by Hot Runner Thanks so much for all the tracking and IM juju! All I can say is that it was truly epic, particularly the bike. NOTHING went as planned on that part--issues at times with bike, body, and weather! (But no monkey attacks--did see a lot, though, including some enjoying gu packets and water bottles!) The run was amazing--hot at first but glorious sunset over the beach and then the final hours in the dark. REALLY dark in some places between aid stations and villages. I don't think I've ever done a run like that! OMG I am sore! Wow, great race, congratulations! |

Pennsylvania | Subject: RE: Manatees - 2018 Edition Now CLOSED Originally posted by Atlantia Tiny Grandma update: She was discharged from the hospital, then wound up back in the ER within 12 hours. Surgery took place Saturday to clear the bowel blockage, and recovery was tough. She was put into Progressive Care Unit (anyone know what that even means?!) but as of this morning has thankfully been moved to a regular room. Tiny Grandma: you get better now, that's an order! Glad to hear she's been moved to a regular room, hopefully a discharge minus the quick readmission will happen soon. |

Champion 14677 | Subject: RE: Manatees - 2018 Edition Now CLOSED I went for a follow up about my knee and hip. My knee is healing nicely, my hip... well, it is healing, but much slower. I can swim and bike and walk, and run if it doesn't hurt too much. All of that is good news. We have loaded up the camper and are ready to leave at zero dark thirty to go an camp with friends in eastern NC. The place is a "hunting camp". Which means a tiny house on a bunch of property. We all will be in campers or tents and have meals in the house. It is gonna be COLD and windy. There will be much laughter and shenanigans. Raven is nervous and excited that she gets to go, too. We will stay until Saturday then meet some friends and camp in the wine section of NC until Monday. More laughter and shenanigans to be had. I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving. |

I love Thanksgiving Camping. My family and a large group of friends did that for years when I was growing up. It's great fun. Good luck hunting (haha) |

Master 8248 Eugene, Oregon | Subject: RE: Manatees - 2018 Edition Now CLOSED We are eating our turkey tomorrow! For some reason, when I booked the tickets, I thought Thanksgiving was next week, not today. So we have already spent 14 hours of "Thanksgiving" (since Thursday started for us in Singapore) eating airline food! Waiting for the flight back to Idaho now; all I want to do when I get home is sleep! Hopefully someone will remember to get out the turkey to thaw! BTW Singapore as a post-IM recovery stop is highly recommended. Lots of power shopping in a small, concentrated areas (Orchard Road), pleasant strolls around the Botanical Gardens, easily accessible (if somewhat lame) beach at Sentosa, and most importantly, it has to be one of the best cities in the world in which to eat! |

I became a dad again this week, so it's been a good kind of chaos at my house. Won't be long until I get to try out the baby jogging stroller. |
