Master 6595 Rio Rancho, NM | Subject: RE: Manatee Mayhem Part Deux - 2017 Edition Thanks everyone. Knowing you all were pulling for me made a huge difference. Short recap.., My rear derailleur cable broke with 30 to go on the bike so I was on a fixie (small gear) for the last 30 :P Then GI issues slowed my first half but I walked fast enough to be able to make it up in the second half. |

We were told not to talk about it but how can we NOT? Raleigh man jailed for stealing street sweeper, driving donuts at a mall So... who's bringing in donuts tomorrow? |

Pennsylvania | Subject: RE: Manatee Mayhem Part Deux - 2017 Edition I'm ba-ack! After 2.5 weeks of traveling the US (Lake Placid, NY and back) and then having an incredible trip seeing and doing so many tremendous things in Scotland, I'm finally crash landing into reality. Little Scotland recap, activity-wise for those who may not have seen on FB: I swam in Loch Leven at dusk. The next day I got a very brief swim in the North Sea at Nairn. The beach was very rocky and it was hard to swim without b*tching up my wetsuit but I did get a short 50 yards or so completed of actual swimming. I trail ran in an 'ancient woods' which is so called because it's never been developed or cut down but has always been woodland since the Ice Age. We hiked Arthur's Seat and I ran a very tiny bit in street clothes just to say I ran at Arthur's Seat. Non-exercise related activity: saw a lot of beautiful castles, breathtaking lochs, fell in love with the mountains of the highlands, explored interesting towns and cities, toured a distillery, and was given a very unique opportunity to be taken to the farm where my great-grandmother (and her parents and siblings, of course) lived and worked. Sadly the actual dwelling they called home is gone (or renamed) and therefore I couldn't pinpoint their exact plot of land, but we were on part of the larger estate that made up the smaller parcels that tenant farmers such as my family owned and that was more than I could've dreamed of. Scotland and its people were amazing. Life back at work in boring ol' PA seems so blah in comparison. |
