Subject: RE: Back... with hardware.....novas - 2009-08-16 7:13 PM YAY, awesome! ... as an aside, was it a real island in LB, or an "island" of the oil-derrick-made-into-an-island. when i first moved out to SoCal and saw those little fake islands i thought they were SO comical. Thanks all. I am hoping that next year I won't have any more "comebacks". Two years is enough As for the island, this was Naples Island (or Treasure Island ) near Alamitos Bay. As we were driving down though, I saw those and my wife was asking what they are for. I realyl have no idea, guess I'll have to google those.... Maybe it's these.... "The "oil rig islands" are four islands with active oil wells that have been decorated with different colored walls about a mile offshore. They are named for astronauts who died while being a part of the effort to reach the moon (Island Grissom, Island Chaffee, Island White and Island Freeman ). " |
