Subject: RE: Poll on single/married/divorced BTers?wurkit_gurl - 2009-06-11 2:31 PM Can we just clarify that if you're in, for all intents and purposes, a "relationship" with someone, even if it's not marriage, you're NOT single? I get the whole "we're not married, I want my freedom, I can do whatever I want" mumbo-jumb (and then we wonder why the divorce rate is 50%, with all this non-commitment), but it's NOT the same as actually being single. Seeing someone consistently is not being single. Living with someone is not being single. Funny you bring this up, I dated my wife 4 months before we got married. I had known of her for over 1 1/2 years but bumped into her in the store asked her on a date, moved in together two weeks later, and married a few months after. MIL hates me and swore from the beginning we wouldn't make it a month. HAHA!! Now I am subsidizing her mortgage and paying her power bill (I guess this is her version of a stimulus package ). Anyways, I said then and believe now, either you are right for each other or not, living together for 5 years and then marrying is no better for your marriage then dating 6 months and marrying. Personal opinion of course, not actually backed by true or FOX facts. Sorry about the Hijack. |
