Skinny.

Too thin.

Which is ridiculous since I am the same size as Cancellara and he is considered huge by cycling standards!

Can I start calling you tubby too then?!

haha

I get skinny a lot.. but I weigh 147 or so. I look more like a runner than a triathlete.

My weight fluctuates so wildly that every few months, someone will say "I can tell you've been working-out, you're looking good."

I also hear "How much weight have you lost?"

I guess from my wrestling days, I let myself get fat for a few months and then kick my butt into shape for a few months.  Really not good for me but I'm trying to get better about it.

And then there was the time I was at a, uh, gentlemen's club with a buddy.  A couple of the, umm, employees were dancing for us.  The one dancing for me said to her co-worker, "Amber, feel this guy's legs, they are so freaking hard! Feel them!"  And they proceeded to do that and then discussed the matter for a few minutes.  My buddy was feeling left out.

And no, she wasnt referring to body parts that aren't legally able to be touched.  She was referring to my thighs.

Last year I was told, " I didn't think a fat guy could run so fast," after I smoked some guy in the last 200 yards of a tri.

My physique is usually described as something along the lines of  "fireplug", but my all-time favorite is:

"Built like a Michigan fullback"

Big for a triathlete. Well, that's what I say about myself. Don't really have the kind of physique that people comment about. I did get a kick out of some comments from some college-age boys. They called me Pam With The Sprinter Legs. I took that as a compliment

I'm still kind of heavy, so I don't hear too many comments about that.  I do get told that I have great calves, which always makes me smile.

I had a picture taken with me next to a friend and 'true triathlete' who is really freaking fast (close to qualifying for nationals) and my wife said that I looked skinny.  In two different pictures at two different angles.  I am 5'10" and weigh 208.  He is 6'1" and 170.

And NO ONE thinks that I could be on the heavy side of 200.

And my running buddy and I compliment each others legs...in a very supportive and hetero way...

HA! I got off my bike last weekend at a gas station (rest stop) and some guys who were standing around (truckers?) said, "WOW girl, you have some muscle-ly legs!"

I was like, "THANKS! I think?"

Here is a picture of said legs:

Otherwise, lately everyone I have seen says, "You look thin, have you lost weight?" And I have.

I've been told that I look like a runner and that I shouldn't lose anymore weight.  I'm thin, but I haven't lost any weight since I started tri training so that comment bothers me sometimes.

Hey, nice legs!!!  Your quad definition is fab Wink

When I was training for a HIM and had to drop most if not all of my weight training and non-triathlon activities, everyone commented that I was getting too skinny.  My stomach and arms definitely started looking less ripped and more just plain skinny.  My pants started sagging in the butt also.  Now that I'm back to my usual routine people say, "Your muscles have come back".  Yay!

"What do you have, 0% body fat?" or, "I hate you" or "How can you go so fast, you don't even have any muscles?!"

My favorite though is that I look like an athlete. I used to be just 'too skinny', but with a little bit more lean muscle, I finally 'look' like an athlete!

Funny because it depends on who you ask.

My lazy, overweight coworkers say `You exercise a lot. You look GREAT!'
My bodybuilder friends at the gym say `You're way too skinny. You need to bulk up and do less cardio.'
My fellow triathletes say `Hey fatty, you need to stop lifting and eating so much.'

Everybody's ideals about `fitness' are different. I think I look OK so I don't really listen to others when they offer their opinion on my physique. Don't get me wrong, a `You have a great body!' is always nice to hear but I don't put much stock in it when it's coming from someone who just ate a Big Mac, extra large fries and a Diet Coke.

Recently I was told I look like a runner. But my wife occasionally says I look a little "girlish," that is, too skinny. My current BMI is 22.6.

she said, "girlish?"

Is she an endurance athlete?

If my non-existent husband said I looked, "boyish," he'd get an earful. But, that's just me...
