Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() GomesBolt - 2012-11-07 2:11 AM I'd be happy if one of the happy people could tell me what the plan is for "moving forward". Also, I'd be really happy if The happy people would tell me that the economy is now Barack Obama's for the next 4 years instead of blaming Bush for the next 4 years and through the next election. So we can "move forward". Ultimately, as someone who did serve his country, I'm always happy on the day after Election Day because we live in a great country that has free and open elections and we all share a hope that things will get better after every election. If the worst thing someone went through to get to vote yesterday was that they had to wait in a line for 2 hours or that they had to get a library card, that's a pretty good thing. There is no plan. Romney had no plan, Obama has no plan. Even the Ryan plan wasn't really a plan. We will continue running up huge deficits until we can't. That's been the theme from both sides. Nothing is going to be different because the situation we are in isn't easily fixed. On the social side of things, I am happy that gay marriage votes passed in so many states last night. My aunt has been with her partner for 25 years now and they have told us they have no hope of ever being able to marry. It's incredibly sad the way society has made them feel about themselves. The first time my wife and I went to visit, my wife started crying because they are such nice people, but they have been made to feel like they don't deserve to be happy. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Happy MN household here! We are especially thrilled that our state voted down the 2 constitutional amendments on the ballot: 1) defining marriage as one man and one woman and 2) voter id. Way to go Minnesota! |

Not speaking for my employer at all, but I hear that because it is still against federal law, the states can't legalize it. So a worker in Colorado can toke it, but if/when he's fired for doing so (because his THC levels are high even if he's not 1 week after) he can sue, but when it goes to fed court, he'll lose. Definitely creates an interesting discussion with HR... |

Definitely creates an interesting discussion with HR... It doesn't have anything really to do with "right-to-work". If you company has policy against drugs and you smoke (legally) and you get tested, you're done. Even if you have a "medical marijuana card" and can use it, you can still be fired. There is case law upholding this in both Michigan and California. If you can get termed for having it as a prescription, then you can surely get termed for smoking it. No different than alcohol. It's legal.....but if I drink a few beers at lunch and come back to work, I can get fired. |

Sure, you come back after a few drinks it is still in your system, but if you have a few drinks the night before and then go to work, it is gone and the effects are gone. Not completely true with wacky weed. It stays in your system a while without providing the effects. |

Sensei ![]() | ![]() Technically, my guy won, so I guess I'm happy. But once again, it was a begrudging vote.... I'm a fiscal conservative, social liberal, so these elections are always tough. Best of the two, which may or not be saying much? Granted, I'm a bit biased. Obamacare saved my bacon with my cancer situation which probably couldn't have came at a worse time (if there is a GOOD time to get it). What are the odd that you are insurred every moment of your first 42 years, then have it laps for a couple months, and get diagnosed at EXACTLY that time in a routine checkup? Then can't get new insurance after the diagnosis? I should have played the lottery that month. |

Not completely true with wacky weed. It stays in your system a while without providing the effects. My point was that, albeit legal, that you can still be termed for having it in your system. If I drink heavily tonight and come to work hungover....it may be in my system. My company has a zero tolerance policy and technically I can be terminated for having alcohol in my system (even though I drank the night before and hadn't had a drink in 7 hours). Same with pot.....If I smoke tonight and get tested in 2 weeks and it's in my system, the policy applies the same. Terminated. |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I am happy. Everything I voted for was in the majority except for one: Soil and water supervisor Seat 3. But let's be honest, does that really matter? I made the decisions based a single paragraph on the morning of the vote. And these soil people are a little cuckoo... |
