Come on, Manatees, nothing screams "good time" like a destination sprint race to the DC swamp land in the summer!

Setup just released their 2016 schedule and I am thinking maybe Kerr Lake and Lake Logan.  Did they make Rev3 Williamsburg later in the year or has it always been the weekend after July 4th?  The swim series is not posted yet but I would like to do the Celebration Swim (which may be the same weekend as Kerr Lake).

No, I remember it being in mid-late June in years past.

I was thinking it would be withing a week of Kerr Lake but then I saw that it was a whole month later.  Ah well... Someday...

The first 3-4 months of 2016 will be all run focused with races of various lengths and, hopefully, surfaces.  At least that the plan, I still need to finalize things. I'm also sure I'll do a couple of sprint tris over the summer.  The real question is whether or not I will be motivated to do a longer triathlon.  Part of me wants to get back to the HIM distance and another part thinks that is a really bad idea.  Hopefully, inertia won't decide the matter for me

I can empathize. First half of this year was "hold off" on races for job waiting, then signed up for Pikes...and knee issues. Totally disheartening.

Time to figure out a couple of fun things to get back at it.

I hope that it goes smoothly!

x 2.  Not a fun way to spend a few hours.

I'm a total & utter white-knuckler when it comes to the dentist - I hope they give you some good drugs for all this torture.  Yay for drugs!

I hope it all goes well.
But I see I read this and think ahh two hours of piece and quiet! No phone, no emails, no co-workers. I just get to lay and sleep with my mouth open.
(I know I'm weird but 6 teeth extractions as a teen, 3 years of braces and 2 years of working in a dental surgery and it's really like being at home.)

The bit that really hurts is paying the bill!

I still haven't replaced the final victim of the pool-wall collision. You know how many IMs I could do for that?!

NOOO....Don't put me on the disabled list!! I actually swam 3500m today.. Nothing serious--just taking a few days off of my 400m IM habit, and maybe will pass on an MTB ride this week due to the bouncing around.I even did a few open turns during the cooldown and they went okay. Backstroke and breast stroke also felt fine; they didn't yesterday.

Crazy story--I was asked by one of the assistant swim coaches to be the "zombie" in some kind of weird Halloween workout. today. My understanding was that all I needed to do was swim steadily in a lane for an hour without stopping while someone counted my laps, and various things were going to happen with the HS workout based on them finishing sets and whether or not they could keep ahead of the "zombie". But when I got there both middle and high kids were at the pool (about sixty kids) and the coach who'd made up the workout was not; the others (and I) didn't really understand the directions for the kids. Plus the coach was going to make me swim in a lane with 8-10 kids trying to keep ahead of them, with kids jumping in and out, and that didn't sound good in my present state. So begged out of it. But I'd spent all day getting psyched up to swim an hour straight, so I did it anyway after the kids' workout ended. Not quite a time trial as I didn't swim for two weeks over break, I didn't warm up, and wasn't really swimming that hard, but did exactly 3400m. (My best is 3525m.)

Anyway, the hardest part of that is mental. It's hard to start. By 2K I was cruising, and by 3K I actually felt awesome. By 1K I actually got warm. (Oddly, our pool is pretty cold--nearly wetsuit legal by winter. They swear they don't refrigerate it; it's just that the solar heater is broken, but I really wonder sometimes.)

BTW, just letting everyone know I have made my log private as of today. I know that's unsociable and kinda un-Manatee-like, and limits one's ability to be inspired, but it is by request of the coach I've hired and am starting with on Monday. Not that I would have anyone wanting to do my workouts (particularly swimming LOL) or following them like I am Macca or Rinny or something, but she asks that workout details (as in exact sets) not be shared on social media. So thank you for all those great inspires--I will miss them! I get inspired just reading about what everyone is doing despite all the challenges that life throws in the way!

Wooo go racing manatees this weekend!

Disabled is the right word for me for sure. Definitely gaining a new perspective on everything - from opening doors, to stairs, to how far away I am parking (I didn't request a temporary handicapped sticker. Really feel like those should be reserved for folks who literally can't get around - I am doing "OK" on crutches). I went to a work breakfast this morning and was late because the parking was so far away and it took me 3x as long to crutch walk to the venue. Then when awards were given and the crowd did a standing ovation I didn't stand because it's more work to get the crutches out, stand, balance, not fall, sit back down, put crutches back, etc. - but felt bad because I was the only one not standing for someone's great accomplishment. Hopefully they understood.

Anyone watching the World Series? It's fun to have a home team to root for - go Royals

Disabled list can be kind of funny at times. I've been hurt all year, but have also been one of the most active people. Adjusted and stayed with things I could do.

Nice job on the swim!

I remember (not fondly) three months on crutches after knee surgery. People understood...and pretty sure I wouldn't have cared if they didn't. I was too tired. lol

Watching. Luckily, but much to J's aggravation, our cable was out til 7th inning of game 1. Pretty sure I couldn't have watched all 14 innings.  He admitted he probably couldn't have done a 5:09 baseball marathon game either.

Thought of your little guy when I saw this:

We lived on Long Island for 10 years, so Mets fans at heart. TW is not digging the first 2 games, however, I am a small bit conflicted, as I really like Ben Zobrist (ex-Tampa Bay Ray).

Enjoy the winning, I think the Mets will be lucky to get to game 6.
