Champion 19812 MA | Subject: RE: Team Gear Goddesses Well I made it Goddessess!! Did a Tri tonight and got in my miles.....supposed to ride 12 miles but due to darkness I was the first cut off and did one (6 miles) instead of two loops..but I still made it. I was 7th into T2 and I saw how the fast guys do transitions...I have much to learn. As I was going up a hill, I was thinking of all of you since I was just over the 1.5 miles needed to make 200 miles for the month...then my chain came off...kinda sucked. Four of my five kids came to the tri and my 16 year old son had never been to one so I was glad. 3 of my kids ran the last bit with me..smoked me of course...but it was neat. I love my bike and wish I could have ridden more..watch out July...and I think I'm going to do a century ride in September. I'm proud to be a Goddess for the month...you all rock and are inspiring!! |

After explaining to my husband how I HAD to go bike 15 miles tonight, he graciously let me go and finish the BT Challenge. Tomorrow night is his...... Goal - 150 miles Completed- 150.98 I rode more in the last 2 days than I ever have. My butt is sore, my knee hurts, and my husband is lonely , but it was worth it. Thanks BT Challenge, it has pushed me to new limits. |

Extreme Veteran 596 ma | Subject: RE: Team Gear Goddesses nikki - 2005-06-20 1:31 PM the bear - 2005-06-20 1:23 PM This is all for fun ladies, different varieties of smack talk. Laugh it off, move on. This is all for fun Renee - 2005-06-28 8:13 AM the bear - 2005-06-28 6:47 AM I "blew by" my goal by riding at least thirty miles every day of the last week I was able to ride, motivated by my teammates and the lack of compassion by certain members of the opposition. Bear, I am here to say that your goal is no issue. Your request was granted without equivocation. I think this "lack of compassion by certain members" comment is hooey, though. Nobody lacked compassion. One person raised the SAME question that was raised in the swim challenge regarding withdrawals. That's all it was. This challenge is almost over, there was alot of smack going round, some people could take it, others couldn't. Let's not open old wounds. Please. good grief bear, let it go, move on. Geesh, Renee requested dropping my yards (cuz of surgery) for the swim, and your team denied it. We weren't crying no compassion, WE MOVED ON! Our team not only didn't deny your request, but I never suggested it. I suggested team work, and pointed out how cool it was to get it. MOVE ON bear. Your not being funny anymore, as i think you were trying to suggest you were. You just seem bitter, thinking up ways of putting down your opponents. Renee suggested in her comment that some couldn't take your smack talk. Not sure if she was referring to me. I don't and didn't have the hospitality Renee has to entertain your presence. Your comments and style definetly turned me off from coming around. I had to end responding to your (humorous?) insults before it got worse, which is what you were pushing for. Enjoy your ride, your challenge, your team, your races, your kids, and your life. |

Buttercup 14334 | Subject: RE: Team Gear Goddesses Goddesses, I am so freaking impressed by our team. Truly. What terrific effort from all involved. I hope you all take a look at the spreadsheet; you will be impressed to see how well each Goddess did with her goal. We may have lost the challenge to the 'bones but we won individually with respect to accomplishing our goals. 106% aggregrate goal attainment (pre-Gwendal reporting) is a terrific team performance as well. Very impressive and you should all be congratulating yourselves and each other. Brava!!! |

Elite Veteran 1817 Cedar Rapids, Iowa | Subject: RE: Team Gear Goddesses Way to go, Goddesses! The 'Bones really put the pedals to the metal and beat us fair and square, so big time congratulations go their way. The great thing is, it's impossible to feel bad about our defeat in light of the awesome riding we did this month. So many of us accomplished things we never thought we would, went to new levels of riding and found somewhere along the way that WE LOVE OUR BIKES! Good for us! We are all still GODDESSES, and that will never change!! |

Veteran 293 The Emerald City | Subject: RE: Team Gear Goddesses What an accomplishment for us! Thanks Goddessess and Captain Renee for the inspiration. As Murphy's law would have it....my PC was having techie problems last night and I couldn't post my 15 miles (thatI rode yesterday) until this morning. By the looks of the posts, it seems it wouldn't change the outcome anyway. I can't view the sheet right now. Congrats to the guys! Edited by kepola 2005-07-01 12:35 PM |

Elite Veteran 1817 Cedar Rapids, Iowa | Subject: RE: Team Gear Goddesses I think bear said he was going to update the sheet later. You are correct, it won't change the outcome, but I still want my 500 in the "official record" that will go down in the history of this challenge, as I'm sure do the other Boners and Goddesses who worked so hard! Hundreds of years from now when the forensic anthropologist dig up this website, I want it to be perfectly clear what ass kicking bike riders we all were back in the day before time warp bicycling. |
