Updates on me:1. My new job is crazy busy. Sadly, there is not as much science as I would like. It's mostly just administrative and managing other people. 2. I am still looking for a job. I had some interest from a government job (they asked for more info, so I take that as a good sign). I also had a phone interview on Monday, but I don't feel very confident after it. Not sure how to improve their impression of me.3. Still tired and trying to get health things figured out. I have an endocrinology appointment next week.4. I'm working out a bit again. I went biking tonight.

Jen, it's either that Salty rode her bike (to happy hour) or that she broke down to use a HRM for splits at the request of her coach.  Both rare totally out of character for her so it's a coin toss if you ask me

Felicia sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo great to see you!  Sorry your health has not been too good; hopefully things will settle down for you soon.

Kate, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that you end up in just the right place for you.  Centipedes or not

Erin, that is a great story.  I bet he was a proud guy showing off that medal!

Jen, good job getting on your bike!

Tuesday night, Taylor was looking at my finisher's medal. He said it was the coolest one I've gotten, and really liked the map with desert creatures on the back (pic). He got a cloth and started shining it up for me. When he was done, he asked if he could take it to school to show his class. I paused for a few moments as I thought about sending my first marathon "medal" into his first-grade classroom for "share time". He looked at my face and said, "I promise I will take care of it, Mom." So we packed it up in a baggie and put it in his special backpack pocket.

It made the trip safely

That's sweet! Next time he should take you and the medal

Awww, how sweet!  Glad he was able to prove your trust and the medal came back home intact.

Felicia!!!   I'm so happy to see you back here - we've missed you!!  :D

Kate - I'm going to keep everything crossed that I can for you - the Dallas position sounds like a fantastic opportunity... even with the centipedes!

Such a cute story Erin.

Jen - Good luck with the jobs - you'll get something fantastic!

Gawd how I wish I could have called into work today with Canadiamericanhockeyitis...  But, I don't think that would have gone over well.

I will, however, be leaving work at 3 today to get on a plane to DC to spend the weekend there with Tony.

Final build out on le Fantome' Fixie. Taking it out tomorrow for it's maiden voyage. It seems a bit odd to have a computer on something so old school, but it will have my Timex on it, because a ride doesn't happen if you don't upload it somewhere. Or so I'm told.

Ml, ml what's a ml? Ran my 15k as a workout today. Did the first two miles easy and then closed faster. Ended up winning. It was quite hilly and we had a touch of snow. It was a really interesting distance to run. Two weeks until the HM.

Hope the races went well today and are great tomorrow! My shin splints are better (yeah!!), but still no lead on the thyroid. I do have an appointment with an endocrinologist on Tuesday! I'm actually pretty excited about it.
