It seems like maybe McMatt or Jonathan have done that one but I don't see it in their race logs.

My bike is fine. I was able to get the chain out of the derailer(still can't spell) by manuvering it out. Maybe not the smartest way , but no harm done. My dad was then able to put the chain back on the gear. We messed around with the gears a little and was able to get it running normally again. There were no problems with the ride I did last night.

Proof of life post: I'm crazy busy at school. I can't tell you the last time I've had a planning period so all the work I usually do at school I'm doing at home after training.

I just signed up for the 106° West Half Iron Distance tri in Dillon, CO. The swim starts at Lake Dillon, which is at around 9,000 feet in elevation. The bike climbs to 10,300 feet, making this the highest tri in the world. Swag includes a cowboy hat and the finishers get a belt buckle instead of a medal.

What the heck was I thinking?

We had some bad stuff about 25 miles from us. A co-worker lost a pool cage and his neighborhood looks Charley-esque. I hope the NC and Virginia folks are ok, I've heard of some bad there as well.

Tornado action and some fatalities in VA, but not my neck of the woods. I did see some pretty impressive hail, and the water level got alarmingly close to the back door. Vivaldi was less than thrilled about having to use the puppy pads for the night, but other than that all okay here!

NC/VA Podmates - PLEASE CHECK IN!!

Thanks for checking in, Laura and Chris.  I'm glad to hear you were spared.

The nasty weather made it to PA, too.  We had very high winds, flooding, and a tornado touched down in the eastern part of the county I live in (I'm toward the west), but we must've had wind sheers or something randomly strike nearby.  There were numerous trees, big and small, ripped over.  Some roads were closed this am because of damage and flooding.  Also, the fascia is hanging off the front of neighbor's house.  We had smaller to medium branches down in my yard and we of course have mini streams of water in the basement.  The sump pump is running every few minutes.  We also lost power for a few hours overnight, but all in all we're good.

Winds were strong, but nothing to really worry about up here. There was some icy snow falling in the afternoon & evening though. Not much by me, but down at the city and south of it may have had a good amount. Think a number of schools may have called a snow day last night.

Crazy weather stuffs for the pod, stay safe all. (I don't know what a pool cage is )  I'm happy to have my mild southwest weather. I missed the snow earlier this week while I was enjoying the Phoenix heat.

Does this have a different meaning than I'm aware of? Because otherwise, that just sounds terrifying...and gross. Sorry to hear about your basement streams, but glad you're mostly okay otherwise.

Find a mentor. Make a list of at least three people that you could approach for help, list your specific needs and then be courageous enough to begin asking.
