Subject: RE: Biggest Loser Bravo NBC. You did an awesome job of casting MORONS on this season's TBL. In past seasons, they tried to cast the most morbidly obese people. But casting idiots is far more entertaining. The funny thing is...I think Conda is the smartest one on the show. Yes, she is a witch, but she's playing the game to perfection. The interesting question is though...if you were Daphne...and you had a brain...what would you have done. I would have done the following. Bob's team - Daphne, Buddy, Mark, Emily, Cassandra, Megan. Dolvett's team - Conda, Jeremy, Chism, Chris, Kim, Kimmy The reason being because Buddy, Mark, Emily, Cassandra, and Megan don't really have any known allies. Most of them are pretty reserved and think rationally. Mark is the sketchiest...but he's pretty strong in challenges and on the scale. Daphne may get some brownie points from Emily, Cassandra, and Megan for keeping them with Bob...because I think they would each have a nervous breakdown if they switched teams. Mark and Buddy...I think they're man enough (and open enough) to work with Bob...and part of me thinks they would actually like that opportunity. Putting Conda, Jeremy, Chism, and Kim together creates an immediate alliance on the red team. Chism and Jeremy are close, and Kim and Conda are close. The fact that Conda and Jeremy are siblings (and they are all younger) bring them all together against Chris and Kimmy. Chris would cry about not being with Bob...and likely she would be the center of attention on the team. Conda and Kim would likely assume control of their team...and promptly kill it...before feeding on themselves.

Pro 4339 Husker Nation | Subject: RE: Biggest Loser GUYS I figured it out! They saw the title "The Biggest Loser" and COMPLETELY mis-interpreted what it meant! They got on the ranch and learned that it was a weight-loss show, but they're still trying to see who can be the biggest loser on the ranch! So far Conda is way out in front of everybody else in terms of being an actual loser. Edit: the show makes WAY more sense now that I can see it in that light. Edited by Bripod 2012-02-22 7:27 PM |

Ahhhh, very cagey. That also has the bonus of blaming the switch on Conda or Jeremy which would have been awesome to see. |

I miss having people that actually care about loosing weight, taking care of their lives AND setting a good example for their kids and family. remember Koli and his cousin who went back to their community and did nothing but fight for themselves and their families? or laura and tara (especially tara who was a fierce fighter and competitor) i wish there was some good way to contact nbc and tell them how badly they screwed the pooch with casting this season. |

HOLY COW! She can not be serious! That child is going to need therapy. Agreed. I thought the same thing... yea a role model by squirting out kids at 16, talking behind people's back, whining about every little freaking thing, ugh... that b!tch really annoys me. |

Master 1890 Cypress, CA | Subject: RE: Biggest Loser dgunthert - 2012-02-22 6:20 AM So Conda joins a new team and manages to convince a brand new group of people to follow her. The black team throws the weigh in because no one can handle all the drama. I have a strange feeling that the drama will mysteriously continue. As for the article, NBC should dump them all for breach of contract. I guarantee that contract they signed said the rules could change whenever and however NBC wanted. The attitude is the same reason the aqua team had targets on their backs the second they returned. They're reporting this "strike" like it's happening in real time, but wouldn't all this stuff have been shot like months ago? I smell a publicity stunt. |

Regular 247 Waterloo | Subject: RE: Biggest Loser This show is a sad shell of its former self. I'll agree with others in that I don't think I can root for any of the reamining contestants. Maybe the blonde weight lifter whose name is escaping me...she at least seemed to have a conscious about what she did at the weigh in. I used to be heavy so this show used to be an inspiration to get and stay healthy, and now it's devolved into a run of the mill reality show. Sad. |

Expert 1037 Portland, OR | Subject: RE: Biggest Loser My husband and I had it figured out once almost to the day how far past the shooting dates the episode aired. I think it came out though to around 2-3 months, because they have to have a pretty quick turn-around for this type of show. And notice that they're all bundled up when they go outside, which means it's winter in LA-area, where it's shot. And I agree with what everybody has said so far. I honestly can't think of anyone I'm cheering for anymore, I just watch to see who does what next. |

Subject: RE: Biggest Loser bel83 - 2012-02-22 4:09 PM so i have completely stopped watching this season. I agree that the show has drastically changed. But as far as NBC is concerned...I have to think that ratings are at least the same, if not up. I have watched the show through DVR the past 5 seasons. I watched most of the season (with little fast forwarding) with Tara, Sione, Mike, etc. That was a good season. The next few seasons...I ended up just watching the weigh ins because the first 90 minutes of the show was boring. This season I find myself watching more of the show again. And if you compare last season's CoJ thread...it only made it to 202 posts. We're almost at that point, and there's still over 11 contestants left on the show. So as bad as it is...it seems more people are watching, more people are paying attention to the entire show (not just the weigh in), and more people are discussing the dramas on the show. That's all good for ratings, and NBC is likely jumping for joy. They could care less if these people actually lose weight. |

I guess we'll have to put our money where our mouth is and stop watching, if we want to affect change. I can barely stand it. Even the challenges aren't fun to watch anymore, which was my only interest going into this season. |

Elite 4108 Calgary,AB,Canada | Subject: RE: Biggest Loser The show has really turned into survivor to me. Someone mentioned earlier than Conda was the smart one. Running the 'game' if you will. But really, couldn't some of the 'others' be running the game. Ie, they could vote her off at any time. Conda has no chance of winning the game. So sure keep her around. get rid of some of the other threats to win. Somone who has that motivation and weight to lose. Emily and Cassandra. I'd take either of them as winners. Or Buddy. He seems like a good guy. Naive, but a good guy. |

Expert 1087 Portland | Subject: RE: Biggest Loser jldicarlo - 2012-02-23 12:38 PM I kind of like Cassandra. She obviously didn't like throwing the weigh in either.... My big problem here is that she STILL voted for Daphne after she made that comment. Chonda is like the popular kid in high school and everyone wants to be on her side. Chonda is a genuinely awful person through and through. I was giving her the benefit of the doubt before that she was just playing the game, but this week proves that she is vindictive, self entitled, and has no compassion/caring for other people. I think the major problem with this season is that all the young contestants are self entitled wieners, just like a lot of our society. They think the show is "owed" to them. "how DARE they bring contestants back, they haven't worked NEARLY as hard as we have". I think it was Jeremy last week who made the comment, "I came here to train with the trainer's not by myself". This is the season I feel like NBC was waiting for, no more touchy feely, "I'll fall on the sword because I don't have much left to lose". The only reason I continue to watch is to hope that Chonda gets voted off. Edited by menglo 2012-02-25 5:00 PM |

AND...Chris will likely melt down because of "losing" Bob. As a teacher and a not-too-tolerant of people behaving badly, I would have to consider imposing a workout rule where you may grunt if needed, but you may not express your pathetic opinion about anything regarding the game, the competitors, your trainer, who is on the ranch, who is not on the ranch, or anything else. Simply shut your mouth and sweat. Put up or shut up. Let the sweat do your talkin' Hmmm...maybe I'm just in a "mood" today. |

Elite 6387 | Subject: RE: Biggest Loser I never thought this show was anything great so same as usual for me. I found it to be inspirational and good to see people change their life... but the "game" itself is probably the worst on TV. The game play is terrible and "temptation" challenges are the worst. I just watch it to see the change, but the game sucks. And comparing it to Survivor, NBC wishes. Survivor is still the best of the this type of show. It is a game and a good one and they continually try to keep it interesting and competitive. |

Pennsylvania | Subject: RE: Biggest Loser At first the way Chism was crying, I thought we'd hear a bunch of whining and such for being sent home. I was thinking to myself, come on, don't be such a baby. Then, after his dad finished his rant, Chism shocked me by actually 'manning-up', taking responsibility and reacting in a much more mature than expected manner. I do wish this kid could have stayed on the ranch a bit longer. I don't even want to hear the contestants whining about 'I don't have Bob' or 'I don't have a trainer' (for whatever reason) because ALL OF THEM just lost weight on their own, at home, and the majority made the immunity goals. Wow, I felt really bad for Roy and Chris and the condition of their house and the lack of funds to fix stuff. That was their primary residence, right? Since I DVR-ed it, I fast-forwarded through Conda's post-weigh-in commentary. Just hearing her voice, especially when she's all sobby and emotional sends me over the edge. Funny thing is my husband was starting to tell me to FF past her right as I already started to! Ha! Edited by melbo55 2012-02-29 9:21 AM |
