I'm in line for coffee this morning, and, as usual, Mak incites a conversation with a stranger. His name is Jeff. He works at the bank. He moved here from Chicago less than two weeks ago. He left his wife and 13yo son there while kid finishes school. Wife doesn't like him very much after the latest 8" of snow. Oh, and he'd trade a 13yo for a 3yo anytime. LOL

C'mon, Monica! Even the little bank guy knew when to get out of Dodge.

Oh, and you Betty-fied nicely

Lol!  I can guarantee you that we'll be moving next year AT THE LATEST!  Right now, we're hoping (fingers so tightly crossed I can hardly type) to be outta here before next winter.  BUT... there are things like jobs that we would like to have set up (at least for Tony) before we go... and then there's the apartment to either sell or rent out... and whether it's a good decision financially to move this year.

Blargh, being a responsible adult sucks!  I'd love to just say EFFFF THIS and jump onto a plane and go, but alas...

Phew, thanks for the update.  I, too, was concerned when I heard the news while also convincing myself what are the odds of her being there at that spot at that time?

Parent-Teacher Conference this afternoon. Got a pretty good workout in this morning. Finally feeling like I'm getting back on track.

Anyone else feeling like it should be Friday? Woke up like I had lost a day...and we don't even do Daylight Savings!

I have found that this group develops it's very own lingo at times. I'd love to get all of Darren's words in here as well, but I have lost track.

Thanks for the glossary, Chris. I knew what waxing Sedona was but couldn't figure out "fachmie Whoppertime". Figured it was some inside joke I'd never get because I came to the party late. I now feel almost fluent in Manatese. Or is it "Manatease"?

it brought tears to my eyes last night too but it wasn't so beautiful when at 10:30, 1:30 and 4:30 last night when they were screaming the house down.

Some random things that I have learnt this week:
- my mum and other mums who used cloth nappies (diapers for you Americans) know how to get all sorts of goop and other stuff out of towels.
- I can survive for a week with only 4 hours of broken sleep a night (but I don't know how long)
- the company I work for has no idea at all what I do each day and how long things take
- financial auditors suck big time
- 10 mastiff puppies all screaming for food at the same time is really loud and piercing to the ears
- puppies and dogs can cheer you up no matter what your day has been like
-oh and I DO HAVE CORE MUSCLES and they are as sore as FACH because of the fabulous new abs workout that I have created. It goes like this, take one 100 litre bin half fill it with water, take 4 bath sheets and put them in the water, soak them for 4 hours, then lift the bath sheets out of the bin while squeezing them out as you go. Once you are done cart the basket of wet towels to the other end of the house and load them into the washing machine. Rinse and repeat 4 to 5 times a day. It doesn't sound like much but it just goes to show how little I have used these muscles in the last few years.

Can't let the Better Half see this!!!

We have two lovely labs, but can't leave well enough alone.

Every couple months, we end up looking online at litters of either labs or Newfies.  If Newfs didn't drool so much, I think we'd already have one!

Yep, puppies can stress you out, no end - but they are VERY cute!

Matt

I used to have Newfies. They are great dogs and if I didn't live in Florida I would have one now. The drool does take a bit of getting used to though!
