Goin' to the courthouse, an' we're gonna get ma-a-arried... Goin' to the courthouse of Love!
I am now a married woman. Crazy. Eric and I had been talking about this for a while, but we went and took the plunge yesterday afternoon.

Basically, we were planning to get married for some time, but I left my job to make the move to Helena and no longer have health insurance, so we decided not to wait
(nope, I'm not preggers and yup, all the parents approve of us
). So yesterday, we went down to the Clerk of District Court and got "married by declaration". We had prepared a Declaration of Marriage. We filled out some paper work. We raised our right hands and swore that we were neither related, nor drunk
(I loved that... how romantic!
). We and our witnesses signed the Declaration and that was that! LOL!
( I think this is the perfect 'ceremony' for any Libertarians in the crowd... we don't need no stinkin' 'agent of the state'!
)
I'm alternately forgetting and referring to Eric as my boyfriend or absolutely beaming. We will have a wedding next summer... a big bash with all our family and friends, but it's pretty darn cool that he's my husband and I'm his wife.
Here's the not boring part from our Declaration of Marriage: As of this day, August 25, 2005, Eric and Kimberly enter into marriage willingly, lovingly and happily. We joyfully commit to be best friends and faithful lovers to eachother as long as we both live. We affirm our love and promise, before God and these witnesses, to make a gift of ourselves to one another for the rest of our lives.
