Subject: BT run for Rusher

Many of you knew a BTer named Christine Rusher screen name Lucy.  She died tragically 2 years ago this thursday 7/15. (look to my blog 2 years ago if you are interested, there were a couple threads as well)  When she passed we had a BT run for Rusher and people around the country ran a virtual 5K in her honor.  People have expressed a desire to make this an annual event and it has been blessed by the powers that be here on BT.  I'm going to create a race and if you would like to join in to remember Christine please sign on up.  She was a good friend and I know she would love it regardless to if you knew her on not.  That is just the way she rolled.

Will we have bibs again? Do you still have the old Bib design that people could print out?

Lucy is missed.

I've got fartleks on the plan for Thursday.  I'll remember Lucy as I run for sure! I think I've mentioned this before but this board's reaction to her death and the community I saw during that time was one of the reasons I decided to join BT so in some way, I'm here because she is not.  I am so very thankful to her for all that I've gained from being part of this community.

I'll be flying from Japan to Maryland on Thursday but I'll run for her tomorrow (Wednesday here).  I remember IMFL 08, most, if not all of us wore a butterfly tattoo in her honor.  I'll also put my arms out as I round a corner

You can count me in too. I didn't know Christine, but knew of her through her posting, and was just shocked by her death. I remember her posting while she was failing, and her strength and courage were so touching.

Hoy hoy. Thanks so much for posting the reminder. Such incredible and spooky things happened on that first Run for Rusher ... I'm in this Thursday! Wearing a T-shirt!

I want to go listen to the podcast again but I am sure I will cry.

I didn't know her but read through the threads and was moved.  I'm in.  She sounds like a amazing friend to you all and is apparently missed by many.  I'm sorry that I didn't have the pleasure of her acquaintance/friendship!
