Checking out for about a week, heading to Laos this AM for break. Please don't cull me from the pod! Not much training involved--mostly kayaking and shopping. Might have some chances to be a river manatee if it gets too hot in the kayak. Best wishes to any sick, injured, or racers.

Thanks! Got out early for a great run with a friend.  It was crisp and clear, and a fantastic way to start a birthday.

NAME: Tom. AKA ponderingfox
STORY: I got into tri in 2012 after my brother did a super sprint.  Couldn't let him be the only one to do it.  I figured, I could run, ride, and swim, so this should be fun!  I just finished up my third full season as a triathlete.  I did a full series of Olympic distance races and won the overall series for my age group (by sheer persistence).  I'm looking forward to taking 2016 as a running year and trying to get fast.  I've historically been a fragile runner, so I hope that will go ok.
FAMILY STATUS: Single.  Looking for that special someone AND that special canine running companion.
CURRENT TRAINING: Finished my tri season, and am now switched over to running.
THIS YEAR'S RACES/EVENTS: My first race of the running season is a 5k on 11/1.  Then I'll do a Thanksgiving 5k.  Will be doing a HM in Phoenix in Feb.  Then want to work on fast 5ks
BODY COMPOSITION: Feeling pretty good!

Thanks again Podmates for all the thoughts and prayers from Grandma J. Good news! She's off the ventilator and moved to a nasal tube and can sit up. She's being discharged tomorrow. She's taking the oxygen with her and will be on a mask. There's still some serious issues going on, but she's refused additional treatment and wants to go home. Soooo, this is tough....she's good enough to not be in immediate danger right now, but is never going to fully recover. Getting old sucks.

SUCH a cutie!!

Our weather is finally starting to cool down a bit to being downright chilly in the mornings, but still hitting the mid-high 30's (C) or 80s/low 90s (F) for you 'Merikans.

30 Fahrenheit or 30 Celsius??  I would be happy to never have to deal with 30F ever again!  (my overly large North Face puffy coat that looks like I'm wearing a sleeping bag is still in storage, where I hope it will stay!)  :D

Randee - IM finisher and mountain bike lover.  Lives in CT. Future power meter expert.

i think that many of you know Lisa C. from Witchita from BT?  She was in a bike wreck at IM Lou and broke her ankle.  If you have a chance to check in on her and give her some support, that would be great.

Hi, my name is Monica and I like to drink wine, race when I'm not sick/injured (and occasionally train for said races) & I live with Mr. Goggs, his dog & our 2 cute little furry jerks. I also like long bike rides in the countryside, swimming in freshwater & running. Coffee should be a necessary-to-life food group.

I'm Ann-Marie (Hands).  The last couple of years have found me injured way more than anyone should be, but when not in training time-out, I like to run a lot, swim on occasion and bike when I have to.  I live with my dog Gunnar who also seems to be injured way more than any dog should be.  Hmm, I wonder if there's a curse on my house and all who enter?  I like coffee and beer. And ice cream.

Hi I'm Sean. I change directions a lot, but I'm always going somewhere. For about a year now I've been obsessed with triathlon and doing an IM (registered for IMTX 2016). I live in sweltering Houston, TX with my wife and two kids and dog Jet. Don't know if I've ever posted a pic of Jet, love this guy!
