  • Comments: Even though I got my first podium and my placement numbers look good, I was a little disappointed because I know I could've made up the 1:35 for first if I had trained like I should have (and have in the past).

  • Comments: Overall, satisfied with 1st race. Clearly need significant work on cycling. Shaving 5min off the ride would have moved me up 60+ slots overall. Can't complain about 21/62 division and 132/709 overall.

  • Comments: First time at LTF tri, it was well organized, except they need more crowd control on the bike, thus explaining some collisions on course. For an event of this size, it was done well.

  • Comments: I love this race. It's generally pretty well organized (There are some opportunities for improvement, but it's good none the less) and it's a lot of fun to watch the pro's! Weather conditions for today were as close to perfect as they could get for a race. Take away a couple miles an hour of wind (there wasn't much to begin with anyway) and increase the water temp 3-4 degree's and you'd have had a PERFECT race condition in my opinion. I'm anxious now to go home, train hard and comeback next year and kick this race in the butt again. Comparing this race to the race 3 years ago, well, I shows what I'm capable of, and how far off my game I've gotten. No worries though, I came to this race today to have fun, be with my friends, and enjoy myself, all of which I accomplished. Could I have done better, absolutely, but I'm not letting it get me down in any way. I had fun, and learned much, and I'm ready to get back at it for next year!

  • Comments: I would do this race every year if it wasn't for the entry fee. Thanks to Steve and Waste Management for sponsoring the relay teams. Great experience for building confidence in the swim. Turtleman, here we come...keep your fingers crossed for wetsuit temps...he, he...I'll be practicing long OWSs SANS wetsuit the next few weeks...:)

  • Comments: This race was definitely not without its issues and problems. Although a lot of things went wrong, a lot of things went right and I'm very greatful that the majority of my goals were met. I had a bad race last year and I wanted to prove that I could do better. I bettered my time year over year by almost :12:00 ( :11:49 actually). I beat both my Transition goals and also beat my (revised) Run goal(originally wanted 30:00 or less, later changed it to :33:00 or less). Plus, as mentioned earlier, had better times in all disciplines (which I had also set as a goal). Last years time: 1:55:57

  • Comments: My first tri I was nervous all day on Friday. I was eager to get the race started. I packed and repacked my bag the night before. I took the afternoon off work on Friday and went to the event expo to pick up my packet. That was actually a lot of fun. I just felt good that I was one of the athletes there to pick up my packet. So, then I took my bike to the bike shop just to have them put some air into the tires. (I have had some tire issues). I ate a good protein meal for dinner and then tried to go to sleep. Alarm was set for 4 am, but I woke up at 3:30 and just could not sleep. So, I got up and took my dog for a long walk. It was a gorgeous sunny morning. The forecast called for record heat and I had a 10:30 am start, so I was wishing that I could do it right then and there at 5 a.m.. But, I just took my time, repacked my bag, had a leisurely breakfast and had a talk with my bike. I know…I sound a little crazy, but I was worried about getting a flat tire, so I asked it to please

  • Comments: I thought the race was very well organized, especially considering the hot weather and all the people involved. Despite this being my first time and being all worried about not knowing where to go...everyone was helpful and marked well. There were lots of people on the bike and run courses offering water and drinks and ice cubes...even a fabulous fire hose on the run. Also, mad props to Gear West for fixing my exploding flat tire and scrunched derailler in like 5 minutes for me before the race. The atmosphere was awesome and everyone was really friendly. At first I was a little nervous around all the hard core racers, but the girls in my age group were awesome and friendly and it really added to the experience.
