Let me be the first to say I'm a cat lover. But this is some funny stuff right here.

This is the strangest thing I've seen or heard of in a long long time. Once you see it, you can't unsee it...

I didn't want to laugh, but I did anyway.  Sort of like when someone slips on the ice or takes a shot to the balls...  So wrong, but can't keep from grinning.

As I commented on facebook when a friend posted this, I feel like a chump having cremated my dogs when they died. I would totally have had an armada of flying golden retrievers surrounding and protecting my personal airspace...

Ok so that's the second cat I've ever liked.  The first was the one that got stuck in the wheel well of my truck while I was driving and I had to scrape out.

I thought it would be funny, but I ended up thinking it's kinda odd. And the look on the animal's face, post-taxidermy, is like what you'd expect in a bad scene from Deliverance.

Yah, kinda odd.

I'd definitely chalk this one up there in the strange category.  I'm just thinking of the thought pattern that resulted in this.

Dang, Orville died what should I do with him.... Hmm, maybe I'll make a helicopter out of him.  lol

I agree also. I think what makes me sad is that the cat was stuffed and now has wires and wings drilled/sewn/attached to him. Isn't that disparaging the dead? Plus, I'm also not a big fan of taxidermy.

What if someone had done this to a human?  I believe the animals deserves the at least similar respect as a dead human.  If you want to stuff him and keep in in your home to remember him by it's still creepy but I can kind of understand that.

But turning him into a toy.  Pretty tasteless IMO.

Which animals? The ones we've domesticated and taken into our homes? How about the strays that get euthanized then incinerated? Or did you mean the animals we slaughter, butcher, and eat. Maybe the road kill that rots in the ditch? Is it all animals, or just some animals?

I don't believe any animal should have a motor shoved into it's body and wires run through it's skin just to make a novelty item.  It's just disrespectful.

We kill the cows and pigs for their meat.  We use them.  We euthanize the strays because they would starve otherwise.

I'm no PETA supporter but there is a basic level of respect and I think this crosses that line.

I seem to recall BT in a thread some time ago overwhelmingly saying we should not speak ill of the dead even if they did bad things.  Yet it's OK to turn a dead pet into a toy for the sake of nothing better to do?  Seems at odds.

And you think you are going to come over this weekend and sleep on our couch? We have 3 cats, remember!

Molly is liable to make YOU into a helicopter. You'd better behave. Yell

Taxidermy is weird, I admit. At least this guy is doing something other than having his dead animal sitting next to his bed, staring at him at night while he sleeps. Instead the cat's hovering over his bed, watching him while he sleeps. The hilarity trumps the creepy in this situation.

Another point in the "arguement".

RE:  Doing that to an animal for "enjoyment/toy"...

Is it that far off from killing/using animal fur/hide/leather for a fashion statement?  Leather basketballs/footballs/baseballs?  That's for "enjoyment" and a toy as well.
