Da ‘burbs… Current job or field of work / studies: Radio sales guy The place you’d most like to visit: Italia, Ireland (again) and the rest of America Favorite books: The Lord of the Rings, The Bible and anything by Cormac McCarthy and Jim Harrison What music/bands/albums are you listening to: In the car—Fat Boy Slim; At work—Thelonious Monk Alone in San Francisco; At home Lyle Lovett’s Road to Ensenada and a Putamayo World Music Sampler Favorite movie: Apocalypse Now Do you cook? What is your favorite to make? YES! Fisherman’s Stew (of course!) If you could change one thing about your home, what would it be? (Landscape the back, down by the creek) Best thing that ever happened to you: Married Mrs. Fish and had our daughter…Nothing else even come close. Last embarrassing thing that happened to you (because it’s been so many years since I’ve played “Truth or Dare” ): The really attractive sonogram technician that “handled” my testicular cancer sonogram. Like it wasn’t already uncomfortable enough… What are you listening to right now? White noise What was the last thing that you ate? Kashi Go lean CRUNCH—that stuff rocks! Can you drive a stick shift? I hope so, since my Honda-hoopty is a 5-speed If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Kelly Green Last person you spoke to on the phone? TRIATHLON, but it’s never on, so on tv—football, in person—baseball Have you ever dyed your hair? Please… Favorite food? Lobster with garlic butter What was the last movie you watched? The Office Seasons I and II or Holiday with Cary Grant Favorite day of the year? Christmas morning What do you do to vent anger? Ride my bike…or sit and stew What was your favorite toy as a child? Lego…and my bike, which still is my favorite toy Which is your favorite season? It’s a tie between spring and fall…but if I had to choose, I’d pick spring because the next season isn’t winter. Favorite fruit? Chilled, fresh raspberries, first thing in the morning, out on the deck When was the last time you cried? Can’t remember… What is on the floor of your closet? Laundry, comic books, and tupperware Who would you most like to buy a drink for here? Spokes and Scout, just because I think it would be hysterical, and HammerDaddy because he made me feel welcome here What did you do last night? Read and went to bed…tres’ exciting, no??? What inspires you? God and my daughter What are you afraid of? Nothing Plain, cheese or spicy hamburger? Spicy! Favorite dog breed? Border Collie…If only I had more space…and some sheep. Number of keys on your key ring? Five or six…you’re not asking me to count are you? More than my daughter and less than a janitor. How many years at your current job? August makes 8, but working here is measured in dog years, so nearly 56 Favorite day of the week? Saturday How many states have you lived in? Two Ever driven a Motorcycle or heavy machinery? Yes When was the last time you laughed so hard that it brought tears to your eyes? Suburbs of Northern Virginia, which I think should cound as urban. Current job or field of work / studies: Doggie Daycare manager, assistant dog groomer, dog trainer. The place you’d most like to visit: Beliz Favorite books: Harry Potter makes me happy. What music/bands/albums are you listening to: I'm liking Linkin Park right now, but I'm a big classical music buff generally. Favorite movie: Sense & Sensibility Do you cook? What is your favorite to make? Not really, but I make great guacamole. If you could change one thing about your home, what would it be? Pull up all the carpet and lay down some of that pergo fake hardwood stuff. Best thing that ever happened to you: Everyday I wake up is a victory. But my wedding day was a pretty nice victory. Last embarrassing thing that happened to you (because it’s been so many years since I’ve played “Truth or Dare” ): Someone's dog peed on me while I was standing in the front reception area, then I had to go to the grocery store on the way home from work. What are you listening to right now? The West Wing Season 5 What was the last thing that you ate? Pineapple Can you drive a stick shift? I read how to on a website. If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Hunter Green Last person you spoke to on the phone? My husband Favorite drink: chocolate milk. Or champagne. What is your favorite sport to watch? Triathlon or figure skating. Have you ever dyed your hair? More times than I could dare to count Favorite food? Mom's spaghetti with meat sauce. But all food is good. What was the last movie you watched? Pride & Predjudice Favorite day of the year? Christmas What do you do to vent anger? Yell at bad dogs and spray them with water. I love my job. What was your favorite toy as a child? My typewriter. Which is your favorite season? I don't know, they all have good points. Favorite fruit? Strawberries When was the last time you cried? When I watched the premiere of Dirt when they showed the dead cat. That was horrible. I'm getting upset just thinking about it. What is on the floor of your closet? Boxes of who knows what, a laundry basket with a cat in it, and shoes. Who would you most like to buy a drink for here? Spokes, because he always makes me feel great, or BodyCheck, because she makes me laugh. What did you do last night? Went to the grocery store, drank a bunch of milk and went to bed. What inspires you? Music What are you afraid of? Failure and the idea that I may be "nothing when I grow up." Plain, cheese or spicy hamburger? Cheese Favorite dog breed? Papillon! Watched the Office & Grey's Anatomy, read the NY Times, cleaned the bathroom and went to bed. What inspires you? My dad and my wife What are you afraid of? Couple of days ago looking at a photo of my best friend's explanation of the square root of 16: Gene Simmons-esque tongue work, and two hands showing devil horns. Classic. After I found out that the c-section went well and mother and baby were fine, and almost everytime people I love came to the hospital to see the baby. What is on the floor of your closet? Shoes? Who would you most like to buy a drink for here? Too many to mention, but I love the women of BT. What did you do last night? Employed strategies to keep baby Saskia content. What inspires you?
