There is also an open water swim race on Sept 6 at Grant Ranch that Pete and Kathy Alfino (Mile High Multisport) are putting on. Race day registration only for $25 and the distances range from 1/2 mile- 3 miles. All proceeds go to a fund set up for Julia and Richard. We will have a huge silent auction at the race and some of the items up to buy are: Retul bike fit, Profile Aerobars, Salomon running shoes, Mad Greens Gift Certificates, 4 Passes to the Royal Gorge, Beer from New Belgium, Swim lesson with Susan Williams, signed gear from pros, Handlebar and Grill gift certificates, wetsuits, goggles, Specialized helmets, pedals, coaching, Triathlete and Inside Tri Subscriptions, race entries to Breckenridge Octoberfest 5k etc etc etc.

We really appreciate everyone getting the word out and all the support we have received so far!

Thoughts and prayers to both and hoping Julia's surgery goes well today.

I've also been following this horrible news add want to add that they have been on my mind and in my prayers for recovery! I also have to add that I'm very impressed by the support of BTers from across the globe.

Any news on Julia's surgery, Trix?

They will both be in my thoughts and prayers -- Godspeed and strong healing. BT sends STRONG prayers; I know because I have been on the receiving end of those prayers....Hang tough!

08/30/2009 More good news! Richard is off the breathing tube. He is breathing on his own now 24/7. He was also able to open his eyes this morning, give a thumbs up to Drew and the doctors and nodded when asked if he recognized Drew.

That just made my morning!  I must have checked before that posted last night.

That is EXTREMELY good news. Watching this from far away and without knowing them but have dealt with it many times before...that is just GREAT!!
