It feels odd to post this today. I was going to earlier and, well, it seemed odd. However, in the spirit of the circle of life, I welcomed my first grandchild yesterday. I am not a "kid person" in spite of being a rather awesome step mom. So when I get all teared up in love with a baby... well.... it is magic.

Welcoming Lilliana Caroline Gregg to the world.

Congratulations grandma Robin!  So exciting.  She is beautiful.

Steve: I'm a bit at a loss for words. I can only say I loved all your insights and contributions to the manatees. I especially loved hearing the race recaps of you and your son racing, and I'll always remember the pic of the two of you at Oktoberfest; you both had the biggest smiles. Wishing you and your family peace. Take care, and thanks for touching my life in such a positive way.

My mom and dad opted to be called Oma and Opa - owing to our Dutch heritage.

Quick update on my ankle. Went to my Airrosti provider on Monday and because of where and how bad the pain was he didn't want to touch it without sending me for an xray first.

Good news is, it's not broken, bad news is it still hurts quite a bit. No running for at least another week, though I did sign up for a Tri camp tomorrow and will have to do a little bit as they are doing a running analysis as part of the camp.

So lots of swimming, biking and stretching next week for me.

Congrats, grandma! I wanted to post something cute about the baby manatee....but then upon a little research discovered that a baby manatee is called a calf. Not cute. At any rate, so happy for you! We cannot know happiness without knowing sorrow, as we've all had to experience this last day or so. Welcome to the world, Lilliana....you're gonna love it!

So, I was informed recently that this disease will take my life soon.  I guess this is good bye and my chance to tell you all how much you mean to me.  It would be easy for me to ramble on a bit I think it best to keep it short and sweet.  I wish you all the best in all your journeys.

Steve, I'm so sorry.  You've been an anchor and stalwart here.  I'll miss your presence on the site and am so thankful that you've been part of my life through this pod.  Thank you so much, and I wish you all the best in your journey, as well.

I'm a step gramma as well -- when the first was little, she could not pronounce "Anne", it came out more as Ace. So the name stuck. I like Ace better than Gramma Anne

My step-dad thought when our kids were young he was "too young" to be a grandfather (mom married young the second time) so the kids called him Pop. Not sure it's much different but he liked it.

The running aspect of an Ironman triathlon is a marathon. Most people take on a marathon as a single event and the training for this uses up a lot of their time. Here are some tips for the run.

Find a mentor. Make a list of at least three people that you could approach for help, list your specific needs and then be courageous enough to begin asking.
