  • Comments: Great first race, which helped me to become comfortable with the triathlon process. I didn't know what to expect, but my goal was to make it an easy race. My ideal goal was to finish in 1:30, and that was prior to an injury I incurred a few weeks ago in a bike crash. Having done no speed work leading up to this race (only aerobic for longer distances) I pretty much let this "ideal" goal go. I finished in 1:29, so I exceeded all my expectations.

  • Comments: very organized, well supported with great crowd support. Dissapointed that official time doesn't break out T times and instead groups it all into "bike" leg.

  • Comments: This was a really good race. The course was challenging but not too bad. It was well organized and eveyone was real helpful. I am excited to do it next year for the 30th anniversary!

  • Overall course based on my ability: Too easy

  • Comments: Except for the parking fiasco, my only other area of disappointment was the guy from the timing company. To be nice, he was a jerk. He was yelling at people about how to run through the chutes and, in my opinion, being fairly rude!

  • Comments: Last triathlon for a while. I am having trouble finding the time to seriously train on a regular basis and my motivation is down since my friends are taking time off as well. I will come back again once some time frees up for me.

  • Comments: I was very spoiled during my 1st race. On a scale of 1-10, it was a 10. This race was maybe a 7 or 8. The lack of parking is not their fault, but I wish it had been mentioned on the website or in the emails. I was not thrilled with them rolling the transition times into the bike or having to wait 2 days for the split times to be posted (Iron Girl gave me preliminary print out 5 minutes after I crossed the finish line). Also, there could have been more water along the run course. But, overall it was a good race and I would do it again.

  • Comments: Other than the organization of opening the transition and not having enough space for the people registered to rack their bikes, the event went pretty smooth.

  • Comments: My overall evaluation of this event is that it was one of the best I've ever been to. There were several exceedingly good points to compliment, and a few bad ones that could easily be addressed in time for next year's race: GOOD * Very responsive decision making by the event management, evidenced by the change in the requirement to keep the relay teams at their bike racks, thus allowing the runners to get out of the transition area to do a proper warm up. * Big red helium balloons tethered above the corner buoys on the swim course made sighting a straight course as easy as can be. Why have I never seen such a simple solution to the biggest problem plaguing swim courses put into practice? * Lots of helpful volunteers. * Sacks of ice lying on the ground to be used as need for injuries and such. Why have I never seen this before? And believe me I've looked, as I've finished several triathlons with serious lower-leg muscle strains. * COLD BOTTLED WATER... in ice filled coolers.

  • Comments: Fun race, happy I did it even though I was sick. Last year this was the first race I ever trained for so it was neat to finally get to repeat a race. Really wish I could have been healthy for it, but oh well.

  • Comments: As with the only other tri I've competed in, this seemed like it was a very well run race and I hope it's typical of triathlons. I can't remember the last running race that actually went off on time and I really hate standing around waiting before the start of a race. For my abilities, the course was a challenge. The 1st leg of the open water swim was the most mentally difficult part of the race. The bike portion went well and while it was pretty hot out, I was able to finish strong on the run. I look forward to running this race again.
